After confirming that all standard parts are in good condition, you can start production preparations.

This kit provides 2 kinds of paint and 2 kinds of tires (neutral tires and rain tires), and players can choose to make them according to their preferences. According to the instructions, the nose wing is very detailed, and the spoiler is made with a separate mold. In addition, the cab seat belt is also provided with etchings and 3D prints. The details of the tail wing are also very fine, and compared with the real car verification map, it is also very accurate. Therefore, players should also pay attention to these very small etchings during the production process to avoid losing them. If they are accidentally bounced off or dropped on the ground, it will be difficult to find them.

First, observe the various parts of the car body. Generally, the bottom of the side skirt will be a little uneven. You can use sandpaper to smooth it out first. After confirming that there is no problem of missing meat, use a 0.15 caliber scoring knife to deepen the scoring. Although the scoring of the car body itself is already relatively clear, we still need to deepen it manually again. This is to make it more three-dimensional after the production is completed. You can consider not to see through the line and use natural shadows to express the lines. When scoring, pay attention to the intensity from light to heavy. First, gently score a few times along the scoring line, and then slowly increase the pressure; at the position of the arc, you can use a curved hook knife to deepen the scoring. If there is no hook knife, do not cross the line when deepening with a straight-headed scoring knife to avoid causing more trouble. And pay attention to the angle of the knife head, and do not make the arc-shaped scoring line into a straight line.

Before spraying the main color of the racing car, first spray white putty evenly on the workpiece to cover all the color differences, and then spray a few layers of white main color after it dries. Here I chose Gunze C1, because the surface of this car is matte, we don’t spray mirror varnish, so we must ensure that the paint surface is smooth and free of impurities. If there is sand or dust, you can use 3000 sponge sandpaper to gently polish it, and then spray a thin layer of main color paint. Before painting, you can use Tamiya 74078 anti-static brush to clean the surface of the workpiece to avoid dust. After the main color dries, cover it with masking tape and curve masking tape, and spray red bezoar and black on other parts.

The color separation of the Red Bull sun is more important. First, use the masking paper that comes with Alphamodel to cover the outline, and then use the masking paper to cover other parts that do not need color separation. The black masking of the tail needs to use curved masking paper. After outlining the outline, use the masking paper to cover the other parts. During the masking process, pay more attention to the symmetry of the two sides and keep the height and length consistent. The position of the nose cone also needs to use curved masking tape to carefully cover the black edge.

The white color separation at the connection between the chassis and the body is more important. The front part needs to be outlined with curved masking tape, and the curvature and position on the left and right should be consistent. Then paste masking paper on other parts, carve the shape along the engraved lines with a pen knife, assemble the car shell, determine the position of black and mark it, and finally paste masking paper on the corresponding position and spray semi-gloss black (Gunze C-18). Because the aerodynamic kit of this car is more complicated, when spraying some parts that are not easy to color, use low pressure and small amount of paint to spray little by little to avoid sticking paint.

For this car, I chose the Turkish rain tire version. The tire pattern can be sprayed with etching film or water stickers. I used water stickers here. The difficulty is that the adhesion of water stickers on rubber is not very good, and more MI-2 softener needs to be added to soften it. Then burn the water stickers on the tread and completely fit the transparent white edge on the tire surface. Finally, wet spray several layers of glossy transparent protective paint (Gunze GX-100) to achieve a brand new color effect. It should be noted that GX-100 takes a long time to dry. At room temperature, it takes at least 7 days after spraying before it can be touched.

Micro-scale MI-1 and MI-2 can be used in the water decal lamination process. MI-1 is an adhesive that increases the viscosity of the water decal, and MI-2 is a softener. Applying softener on complex curved surfaces can increase the ductility of the water decal and better fit the parts. Since the Alphamodel water decal has strong viscosity after being heated by a hot air gun, the position should be carefully adjusted before heating, and the water should be gently squeezed out with a cotton swab, and then heated and softened with a hot air gun.

The more difficult parts have been made, and then just assemble them one by one according to the instructions. As for the coloring of other parts, players can refer to the real car photos for color matching. In this game, I used Gunze C-28 bronze for the brake calipers, C-78 metallic black for the rear exhaust pipes, and semi-gloss black and matte black for the suspension, chassis and other parts. It is worth reminding that the steering wheel must be installed before the seat.
