Alpha Model 1/24 Ferrari SF90 Stradale // Car Body

The build begins with preparing, priming, painting and clear coating the body. ALPHA Model gets better and better with every model they release, so there is almost no need for corrections on the body. First the kit was cleaned using warm water and dishwashing liquid, after that the panel lines got a little deepened in order to keep them visible after all the different coats. For sanding a sanding sponge with 800 grit that can be found on Spekter Žalec • Specialist za barve Št. 1 web shop www.kupibarve.si was used and after that the body was primed using AMMO by Mig Jimenez white one shot primer. The paint was prepared by the specialist from Spekter Žalec. Paint used is AkzoNobel water based automotive paint with color code FER322(Rosso Corsa) the roof is the same color bit with code RAL9005. For the first time I used MR. HOBBY - GSI Europe Hobby Department PS290 airbrush which is amazing. For the protection of the paint before applying CF decals a thin coat of 2k clear was applied.

With new year come new challenges, and in the next few posts you will se the process of applying Carbon fiber decals on the amazing car body of the ALPHA Model Ferrari SF90 Stradale.

In todays post I will show you the preparation of car body before applying the decals on it.

In order to achive the best possible surface for both the CF decals and later on also the clear coat, the body was sanded with the use of 3M Auto’s 2000 grit sanding sponge. The choice of a sanding sponge instead of normal sand paper came with help from the specialists from the company Spekter Žalec • Specialist za barve Št. 1and was suggested based on the many edges of the car body. The sponge is soft and adapts to the surfaces better than sand paper and helps to prevent sanding through the clear coat and paint on the delicate edges.

The result can be seen on last picture a perfectly matte surface prepared for carbon fiber decal apllication

Part 2 will be CF application on the car body. After the car body was sanded, the process of applying the decals can start. After some trials I found out that the best solution for the ALPHA Model CF decals is to put them into warm water for a couple of seconds than put them on a cloth for some time in order for the decal to separate from the bcking.

Given that the SF90 body has some really complex shapes use of AMMO by Mig Jimenez decal set and decal fix solutions, which were provided by miniatures.si, along with cotton tips and hair dryer was neccessary. The results seen in this post are the decals applied on the body before the final layer of clear coat.

In this post you will se the carbon fiber application to the rear splitter. As well as for the car body the same technique was used. The CF decals from ALPHA Model were quickly dipped into warm water and the left on a cloth in order to seperate from the backing paper. Later on the decals were applied with use of some AMMO by Mig Jimenez decal set and decal fix solutions supplied by miniatures.si

The result is one full Carbon Fiber rear splitter withou the final layer of clear coat applied.

This is the last post about carbon fiber decals for the ALPHA Model Ferrari SF90 car body.

After allowing all the liquids to evaporate from under the decals it was time to protect the decals and give them and the car body it’s final apperance. For this reason another layer of clear coat was applied.

Final results can be seen in the pictures.

Alpha Model 1/24 Ferrari SF90 Stradale // Interior // Part 1

First part is painting. All interior parts were primed using AMMO by Mig Jimenez One Shot grey primer, and then painted using TAMIYA（タミヤ） X-18 (semi gloss black) and XF-10 (flat brown). Lower part of the dashboard was masked using Tamiya masking tape and also painted with XF-10. Airbrush used for this was Gsi Creos Mr. Hobby PS-290, results you can seen in the pictures.

In part 2 of the interior articles you will se some details of applying carbon fiber decals to the interior, so stay tuned.

Alpha Model 1/24 Ferrari SF90 Stradale // Interior // Part 2

As promised in this article I will show you the application of carbon fiber decals to the interior of the ALPHA Model Ferrari SF90 Stradale.

As you saw in the unboxing and in articles anout the car body, this kit comes with all carbon fiber decals for both interior and exterior. For the interior there are also CF decals for the Asseto Fiorano pack which I will not use ince I’m making a veraion without the track focused pack.

I found out that the best way to apply the ALPHA Model decals is to shortly dip them in warm water and place them on a cloth until they seperate from the backing. Since the decals are quize big and the shape complex use of Decal set and Decal fix from AMMO by Mig Jimenez was necessary. Both liquid soften the decal and make it easy to apply it on the seat. In this step also small decals for the dashboard, center console and rear shelf were attached. The rear shelf and seats were cleared with 2C varnish, decals on dashboard were cleared using a brush.

Next time we will begin with assembly of the dashboard, center console, door panels and seats.

Today you will se the assembly of the ALPHA Model Ferrari SF90 dashboard, seats, center console and door panels. After all the parts were painted, cleared and detailed it is time to assemble them into finished components. The yellow stripes on the seats were painted with a brush and TAMIYA（タミヤ） XF-3 (flat yellow). In order to give the seats more leather look a light dry brush was made on the cushions. All the parts were glued together with Toni Clark practical scale GmbH Super Gold + glue. Some small decals were apllied to the seats and to prevent whitening some AMMO by Mig Jimenez Decal Set & Decal Fix were used.

Next time we will make the carpets of our interior.

Alpha Model 1/24 Ferrari SF90 Stradale // Interior // Part 4

This time you will see the application of flocking to the tub of the ALPHA Model Ferrari SF90. I started off with masking the carbon fiber part of the rear shelf, after that some white glue was with a brush to the parts of the tub that need to be flocked.

In the next article you will be able to see the completed interior of the Ferrari.

After all the articles of the paint and build process of the ALPHA Model Ferrari SF90 ineterior today you can see the final result. To finish everything off, seat belts were first painted with TAMIYA（タミヤ） XF-3, PE parts were attached to the belts and everything was glued together using Toni Clark practical scale GmbH Super Gold + glue.

Alpha Model 1/24 Ferrari SF90 Stradale // Chasis and suspension // Part 1

The build continues with painting all the chasis and suspension parts of the ALPHA Model Ferrari SF90 Stradale. This time for the first time I have used the AMMO by Mig Jimenez AirViper 0,2mm airbrush. I have to say I am amazed on how good this airbrush works. The atomisation of the paint is superb and it is also super easy to clean. Special thanks goes to miniatures.si for recommending this brush. To begin all the chasis and suspension parts were primed using AMMO by Mig Jimenez One shot grey primer after that the wheels and the blocks for attachung the disc brakes and wheels were painted with matt black from AMMO by Mig Jimenez and the calipers were painted with TAMIYA（タミヤ） XF-3 flat yellow.

After painting all the parts for the chasis and suspension of the ALPHA Model Ferrari SF90 Stradale, today it is time to detail and finalize the rims.

The rims will be a two tone matt black with diamond finish spokes so for this each spoke was painted with a chrome permanent marker. After this the center cap decals were added and for their better adhesion some AMMO by Mig Jimenez Decal Set aolution was used. In order to gice the center caps a glossy finish a drop of Tamiya_Japan X-22 clear was applied with a brush.

The build process of the ALPHA Model Ferrari SF90 Stradale continues with brake disc assembly and detailing. In the stage of painting the PE discs were also painted with AMMO by Mig Jimenez matt black paint in order to make them look more realistic in the next steps. So we begin with sanding the PE discs, to give them the most realistic possible look the discs were mounted ona a drill machine and were sanded with a nail polish file in order to make a slight use apperance, next the PE parts were glued on the resin base and additional PE details were glued on the disc. Additionally to the preparation of the discs also the brake caliepers recived their decals and some additional details were hand painted on the rear calipers.

Tommorow I will show you the final assembly process for the chasis and suspension.

Alpha Model 1/24 Ferrari SF90 Stradale // Chasis and suspension // Part 4

This is the final article about the ALPHA Model Ferrari SF90 Stradale chasis and suspension part of the build. Today we will check the final assembly of all the mentioned parts (wheels, brakes and the mounting blocks). To begin I had to do some test fitting and some reference pictures check in order to find the right combination of wheels(since they are different for left and right side), brake calipers and the mounting blocks.

After matching the right parts together it was time to glue them using Bob Smith Industries Super Gold + glue.

In the next article I will start with the engine assembly.

This time I will ahow you the paint process of the ALPHA Model Ferrari SF90 Stradale engine. To begin with all the parts were primed using AMMO by Mig Jimenez grey one shot primer. After this various paints were applied, engine cover and some hybrid unit parts were painted with AMMO by Mig Jimenez matt black water based paint, the valve covers were painted with rosso corsa Lesonal water based paint supplied by Spekter Žalec • Specialist za barve Št. 1 and the exaust was painted with AMMO by Mig Jimenez Alclad Stainless steel paint. All painting was done with AMMO by Mig Jimenez Air Viper 0,2mm airbrush supplied by minitures.si.

Alpha Model 1/24 Ferrari SF90 Stradale // Engine // Part 2

Today it’s time to assemble the engine of the ALPHA Model Ferrari SF90 Stradale. I have hand painted some details on the air intakes and in the engine bay, also the lower part of the engine was painted accordingly. After this all the engine parts were assembled into the finished engine. At the some metal stickers and decals were added to this part of the model.

Today it is time to showcase the finished engine of the ALPHA Model Ferrari SF90 Stradale. For the engine there are not alot of parts but all the main detail are stil depicted and offer a nice level of detail.

Alpha Model 1/24 Ferrari SF90 Stradale // Detailing The Body // Part 1

The ALPHA Model Ferrari SF90 Stradale build is slowly comming to the end. Today I will show you the first step of the detailing process, that is sanding the clear coat surface. I beging with sanding the complete car body with 3M Auto Trizact 3000 grit polishing sponge to flatten the complete body and remove some imperfections. Next step is sanding with Trizact 6000 grit to remove sanding marks from previous step. And to finnish the sanding process I use Trizact 8000 grit sponges. All the sponges were provided by Spekter Žalec • Specialist za barve Št. 1

Next step will be machine polishing the body.

Alpha Model 1/24 Ferrari SF90 Stradale // Detailing The Body // Part 2

This time I will show you how to machine polish the car body of the ALPHA Model Ferrari SF90 Stradale. For this process I will use 3M Auto Finesse-it: Purple polishing liquid supplied by Spekter Žalec • Specialist za barve Št. 1 and a medium density polishing cone. To begin I apply a few drops of the liquid on the body and slowly spread the liquid on the surface. After this I increase the speed and pressure and beggin polishing the body.

Alpha Model 1/24 Ferrari SF90 Stradale // Detailing The Body // Part 3

This is the last article in the series of detailing the ALPHA Model Ferrari SF90 Stradale’s car body, where I will show you hand painting of the details, wheel wells, head lamps,interior celing. For this purpose AMMO by Mig Jimenez Matt Black water based acrylic was used in combination with different size brushes.

Next time I will start with final assembly off the model.

Today we start with the final assembly of the ALPHA Model Ferrari SF90 Stradale. Today I will show you the assembly of photo etched meshes and head light detailing. For the front vents first the collers were installed and after that all the different PE meshes were glued on with the Bob Smith Industries Super Gold + glue. In the headlights the 3 PE stripes that represent DRL lamps were insalled and some details were hand painted with AMMO by Mig Jimenez paint.

Next time I will show you the assembly of rear spoiler, interior and some other parts.

Alpha Model 1/24 Ferrari SF90 Stradale // Final assembly // Part 2

In this article I will show you assembly of the some body parts on the ALPHA Model Ferrari SF90 Stradale. First thing to assemble to the car are rear lights, after this the rear spoilers were attached. To finish the rear end of the car exhaust tips previously painted with AMMO by Mig Jimenez Stailess Steel Alclad paint were attached. To finish this article side mirrors, dashboard and rear diffusor were attached.

In the next article I will show you the assembly of windows and other clear parts to the model.

Alpha Model 1/24 Ferrari SF90 Stradale // Final assembly // Part 3

Today I will show you the assembly of clear parts to the carbody of the ALPHA Model Ferrari SF90 Stradale. All the clear parts were attached using Bob Smith Industries Super Gold + glue. The best way to attach them is to fix them on one side wait 10 minutes that the glue settles and then repeat the process on the opposite side.

In the next article I will show you the last step of the build process, attaching wheels and decals.

Alpha Model 1/24 Ferrari SF90 Stradale // Final assembly // Part 4

This is the last article for the ALPHA Model Ferrari SF90 Stradale. To finish off the model the pre assembled wheels were attached using Bob Smith Industries Super Gold + glue, here a minnor adjustment had to be made since the front blocks were the wheels get attached are the same for left and right side, otherwise the fit and the stance of the model is great. In the end decals and emblems were attached and the model cleaned.

Next article will be the showcase of the Ferrari.

Description: Here is my first finished model of 2023, it’s the ALPHA Model Ferrari SF90 Stradale. The base kit offers tons off detail straight out off the box. Alpha Model included all the visible details both inside and out in order to make this kit look amazing. As usual with Alpha Model the casts themselves are perfect without any imperfections. For the model I have used automotive water based paint in the Rosso Corsa shade which was mixed by Spekter Žalec • Specialist za barve Št. 1. Other colors used are mainly AMMO by Mig Jimenez either water based acrylics or their line of Alclad metallics. For the interior the flat brown and semi-gloss black from TAMIYA（タミヤ） was used.
