  Body design is very sculptural

  The 296 GTB is the most compact Berlinetta Ferrari has produced in the past decade. The classic fastback design of the Berlinetta models was replaced on the 296 GTB by a cockpit architecture that combined a short wheelbase with a range of elements, including high tension flanks, a canopy windshield, and powerful flying buttresses These configurations give the cockpit outline of the 296 GTB and shape the visual perception of the vehicle.

    The 296 GTB was still unmistakably Ferrari, but with a minimal silhouette, a short wheelbase, monocoque and a very sculptural body. Its modern style is reminiscent of the clean design and powerful Ferrari models of the 1960s, especially the 250LM launched in 1963, with sculptural body lines, B-pillar design, side wings and air intakes The unique design of the fusion is very eye-catching.

    The body of the 296 GTB is sleek, with a clear line running along the doors and merging with the large air intakes for maximum aerodynamic efficiency. The cylindrical shape of the air intake complements the powerful rear wing design. The vertical section of the rear wing has been carefully designed to ensure that the airflow into the spoiler is sufficient to provide the excellent aerodynamic performance required by this car.
